New Developments
Access to the OnStar Guardian™ App4 was expanded to anyone in the United States and Canada with a compatible Apple or Android device, putting peace of mind in Members’ hands with 24/7 access to OnStar in any vehicle, or with no vehicle at all. The app provides Members and a small circle of family and friends with access to key OnStar services — such as Mobile Crash Response,5 Roadside Assistance,6 Emergency Services and Location Status7 — at the touch of a button, using GPS satellite data that can pinpoint precise locations. Whether Members are traveling in a friend’s vehicle, exploring an unfamiliar place while outside their vehicle or just being a Good Samaritan while out and about, help is on the way by contacting an OnStar Emergency-Certified Advisor through the app.
In addition, the OnStar Guardian™ skill for Home was released, a new feature that will provide a voice connection to Emergency-Certified OnStar Advisors through compatible Amazon Alexa8 devices. For more information, read our recent article about the OnStar Guardian for Home here.
